My Story

I’ve always been fascinated by one question, “what does it truly mean to live well?” After completing my Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at Stellenbosch University, I interned at King Edward VIII Hospital, before serving as a medical officer in the South African Military Health Service. Caring for patients across diverse clinical settings taught me that health is influenced by more than biology. It’s shaped by our thoughts, relationships, values, and choices. That realization led me to further training in philosophy, ethics, primary care, and longevity, including a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in the Philosophy and Ethics of Mental Health with Distinction from the University of Pretoria, an International MetaMasters in Phenomenology and Values-Based Clinical Care with St Catherine’s College, University of Oxford, a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in General Practice Cum Laude, and currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Obesity and Weight Management through the University of South Wales.

Alongside medicine, I spent more than a decade in television and public communication, learning how to communicate complex ideas with clarity and empathy. That journey led to creating Mind-Body Solution, where I host long-form conversations with leading clinicians, scientists, and philosophers exploring health, human potential, and the pursuit of a meaningful life. Today, I practice Integrative Longevity and Preventive Medicine. My work is guided by the philosophy of Medicine at the Intersection of Mind, Matter, and Meaning.

My Mission

After years in clinical practice, I realized that traditional medicine often falls short when it comes to treating the whole person. This led me to develop a more Integrative Longevity and Preventive Medicine approach that combines evidence-based medicine with lifestyle, behavioural, and psychological support, with the aim to help my patients achieve:

My three-pillar philosophy, Mind • Matter • Meaning, is the foundation of my Integrative Longevity and Preventive Medicine approach. By combining evidence-based medicine with patient-centred, values-based care, I help my people cultivate a clearer mind, a healthier body, and a deeper sense of purpose.

Whether in the consulting room, or behind the microphone, or in front of a live audience, my goal is simple: Help people live longer, live better, and live with meaning.
